Reach Dharchula on Day 1, enter the Byans (Vyas) Valley on Day 2, take Adi Kailash Darshan on Day 3, Om Parvat Darshan on Day 4, and return on Day 5.

Adi Kailash (5,945 m), revered as an abode of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati, is one of the Panch Kailash of Hindu tradition.

Om Parvat (approx. 6,191 m) bears the natural "ॐ" snow formation — described in tradition as a sign of high energy and creation — visible from the Nabhidhang plateau.

The trade-off is pace: two 10–11 hour drive days bookend the trip, and altitude gain is quicker than on longer circuits.

Best Time for Visit Adi Kailash Yatra

This express route operates only in the stable windows — May–June and September–mid October.

With just one buffer-free schedule, a monsoon landslide can cost the entire trip, so July–August departures are not offered. The Inner Line Permit process is suspended by the district administration in winter.

Expect days around 8°C–18°C and nights near −5°C at the high villages. September usually gives the sharpest Om Parvat visibility; carry layers for pre-dawn starts either season.

Registration & Inner Line Permit

As per current administration guidelines, every pilgrim needs:

1. Filled yatra application and permit form with a colour photo
2. Medical fitness certificate from any MBBS doctor
3. ID proof copy — Aadhaar, Indian Passport, or Voter ID
4. Two additional colour passport-size photos

Permit formalities are completed at the SDM Dharchula office (Pithoragarh district) en route on Day 2; our coordinator manages submission so your schedule stays intact. Note: any permit delay may require an extra night at Dharchula at actuals.

Altitude & Fitness — Read Before Booking

This is the quickest ascent profile of our Adi Kailash departures: sea-level travellers sleep at approx. 3,200 m on night two.

AMS symptoms — headache, fatigue, nausea, poor sleep, breathlessness — can appear above 3,000 m. Per high-altitude guidelines, hydrate well, avoid alcohol, and descend immediately if symptoms worsen.

An oxygen cylinder rides in the vehicle throughout the restricted stretch.

Pilgrims with BP, cardiac, or respiratory history must consult their doctor first — and should honestly consider the slower 6-day or 10-day circuits instead.

How to Reach Kathgodam

Kathgodam is the nearest railhead to the circuit, well connected to Delhi by the Kathgodam Shatabdi (12040, approx. 5h 35m) and the overnight Ranikhet Express (15013) — verify current timings on IRCTC and book 60+ days ahead in peak season. Pantnagar Airport (approx. 65 km) has limited flights; our pickup covers both points on request.

Cash, Network & Fuel — Quick Facts

• Cash: Carry ₹2,000–3,000 in small notes; last reliable ATMs at Pithoragarh & Dharchula
• Payments: No UPI or card payments beyond Dharchula
