Best Time & Weather for the 6-Day Yatra

The 2026 season typically runs May–June and September–mid October. July–August is avoided for monsoon landslides, and the ILP process closes in winter with heavy snowfall.

Expect days of roughly 8°C–18°C and nights dipping toward −5°C at the high villages. September post-monsoon skies usually give the clearest Om Parvat sightlines — though no operator can guarantee the “ॐ” will be cloud-free on your morning.

Registration, Permit & Booking Terms

As per current administration guidelines, carry:

1. Filled yatra application and permit form with a colour photo
2. Medical fitness certificate from any MBBS doctor
3. ID proof copy — Aadhaar, Indian Passport, or Voter ID
4. Two additional colour passport-size photos

Permit and medical formalities are completed in person at the SDM Dharchula office on Day 2, with our coordinator assisting you through the process — only Indian citizens are issued the Inner Line Permit for this route. Any administrative delay may require an extra Dharchula night at actuals.

Things to Carry & Altitude Notes

Pack rubber-sole trekking shoes, sweater/jacket, thermals, woollen scarf, 4–5 pairs of socks, woollen and waterproof gloves, a light raincoat, ORS/Glucon-D, non-blue sunglasses, and a personal medical kit. Buy and test warm gear at home — the route has minimal shopping.

AMS can strike above 3,000 m: watch for headache, nausea, fatigue, and poor sleep. Hydrate constantly, avoid alcohol, and descend if symptoms worsen. Pilgrims with BP, cardiac, or respiratory history need a doctor’s high-altitude clearance. General guidance only — consult your physician before travel.

Kathgodam is the nearest railhead to the circuit, well connected to Delhi by the Kathgodam Shatabdi (12040, approx. 5h 35m) and the overnight Ranikhet Express (15013) — verify current timings on IRCTC and book 60+ days ahead in peak season. Pantnagar Airport (approx. 65 km) has limited flights; our pickup covers both points on request.
