Gangotri Highway Closed Due to Heavy Landslide

This morning due to landslides the highway to Gangotri near Gangnani got blocked as a result of which pilgrims got stuck up on their way. Later BRO took initiative to clear the road and open the route.

Since last few days Uttarakhand is experiencing rainfall in a sporadic way and this is impacting the Chardham yatra. This morning due to heavy rainfall debris rolled down from the mountains of Uttarkashi only to block Gangotri highway at Gangnani. When the news of pilgrims getting stuck up on their way reached the Border Road Organization their forces reached the spot in time and after a huge lot of effort BRO managed to open the route by 8am morning
