Chardham Yatra Package by Car

Starting your Char Dham Yatra journey from Barkot / Yamunotri is the traditional way of going for this pilgrimage. Early in the morning after having your breakfast you will leave for your first destination of Barkot. It is a small pilgrim town on the road to Yamunotri. This will be a journey of about 180 km and 7 hours by road. You will also be crossing Dehradun and Mussoorie and if you want you can plan some sightseeing around there as well. On reaching Barkot you will be checked in to your hotel for the night.

This will be the first day where your Chardham Yatra darshan will commence. Early in the morning you will be transferred by car to the starting point of the Yamunotri Dham trek. The starting point is called Janki Chatti, about 45 km and 1.5 to 2 hours from Barkot,. This trek is 6 km each way, takes 2 to 3 hours to climb, and can also be done via a pony ride or a palki service, which you book at Janki Chatti.

The trekking route is very narrow and mostly crowded with people and ponies, especially during the peak season.

After the completion of your puja ritual and Darshan of Goddess Yamuna at the Yamunotri temple (3,293 m) you will head back to your hotel in Barkot.

Early in the morning, after breakfast your next leg of the trip will begin. You shall be transferred to your next destination of Uttarkashi which is a drive of about 82 km and 3 to 4 hours. You will also visit the Prakateshwar cave temple en route and the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Uttarkashi town. On reaching Uttarkashi you will be checked in to your hotel for an overnight stay. If there is time in the evening you will be free to either spend it in leisure or check out some nearby places as well.

Your Gangotri Darshan will begin early in the morning when after or before breakfast you will be taken to Gangotri Dham temple. It is situated at a distance of about 99 km and 3 to 4 hours by road, and the car goes up to Gangotri, so there is no trek. On reaching Gangotri you will be taken for a Darshan at the temple which is situated just next to the Bhagirathi River at 3,100 m. After the Darshan is completed you will also be taken for some additional nearby sightseeing in and around Gangotri. Finally you will head back to your hotel in Uttarkashi.

Post breakfast in the morning you will be taken to Sitapur which will be your next destination just before Sonprayag on the Kedarnath route. This will be a long road trip of about 230 km that will take around 9 to 10 hours, depending on the traffic and the number of stops you make on the way. On reaching you will be checked in to your hotel.

Your Kedarnath Darshan will commence early in the morning from Sitapur. The starting point for Kedarnath is Sonprayag which is about 2 km away. Private vehicles stop at Sonprayag, and local shared jeeps cover the 5 km to Gaurikund, the starting point of the trek up to the main temple of Kedarnath. The trek is about 16 km each way and the climb takes 6 to 8 hours. The temple stands at 3,580 m. You can book a pony or a palki service to take you to the temple. You will also have the freedom to pick a helicopter, which is booked separately on the IRCTC HeliYatra website. After the completion of the Darshan in Kedarnath Dham you will head back to Sonprayag the same way you came and from there you will be taken back to your hotel in Sitapur for the night.

Please note: walking up and down on the same day is about 32 km. That is a hard day for any pilgrim. Decide before you leave home whether you will walk, ride a pony, take a palki or fly.

After breakfast in the morning you will head to your next destination of Badrinath. This will entail a road journey of about 220 km and around 10 hours. On reaching Badrinath you will be checked in to your allotted hotel here for the night. If there is time you can spend it in leisure or check out some nearby sightseeing places.

Early in the morning you will be taken for Aarti Darshan in Badrinath Dham (3,133 m). After this you will be able to check out some nearby tourist attractions like Mana Village, Bheem Pul, Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa etc. You can talk to your tour manager for details about which places are worth visiting while in Badrinath. Pipalkoti is about 80 km and 3 hours away from Badrinath. On the way you will see Vishnuprayag, the first of the Panch Prayag. On arrival in Pipalkoti you will be checked in to your allotted hotel for an overnight stay.

Your journey back to Rishikesh will begin early in the morning after breakfast. En route you will be given an opportunity to see the other four Prayags: Nandprayag, Karnaprayag, Rudraprayag and Devprayag. Rishikesh is about 220 km and 7 to 8 hours from Pipalkoti. You can check out some ashrams and temples in Rishikesh if you get the time, before the short drive to Haridwar, where you will be checked in for an overnight stay.

From Haridwar you will head back to your departure location of either railway station or airport in Delhi (about 220 km, 5 to 6 hours). The drop off here will mark the end to your 11 days and 10 nights of Char Dham Yatra by Car.
