The social nonprofit organization of Pawan Dham was established in 1970 by Swami Vedant Anand Ji Maharaj. History
The temple was established during the 1970s by Swami Vedanti Ji Maharaj with the main intention of helping others and extending their services to not only the locals and sants but also to outsiders and visitors as well. He is also the founder of the iconic Gita Bhawan in Rishikesh among other schools in Moga. His life was dedicated towards helping and serving others with great compassion. Best Time To Visit
The best time to visit the temple and Haridwar or Rishikesh in general is from October to February. The autumn winter time is extremely comfortable to go out and explore while also going for Darshan in various temples. The temperature remains cool throughout these months. Remember to pack good quality woollen clothing to keep yourself warm during the peak winter months of December to February. The blue sky remains clear and very comfortable.
The summer months are also a good time to visit but it can get extremely hot and sweltering during the morning and afternoon time. In recent times, the temperature in Haridwar soars up to unbearable levels. But it’s also the peak travel season in Uttarakhand as the doors of Char Dham also open. A dip in holy Ganga River feels even more rejuvenating during summer.
Avoid travelling on the hills during the monsoon months of July to September. This is the time when the region remains highly susceptible to flash flood, road blockages and landslides. Although you may find some window to travel to the hills, you need to be careful and plan this monsoon outing very carefully.

The temple is situated in the Bhagirathi Nagar, Bhupatwala in Haridwar. It is located at a very comfortable and easy distance of 3 kms from the iconic Har Ki Pauri Ghat. From Delhi, there are regular bus services available from the ISBT to Haridwar. The nearest railway station to Pawan Dham is 35 kms away which is Haridwar railway station. There are taxis, cabs and other shared public transport services available to connect the station to the rest of Uttarakhand.
