Government is all Ready to Start Helicopter Services for Char Dham Yatra

After considering the rapid growth in the helicopter services business, the state government has now decided to set up their helicopter services. According to the statistics, the private companies are doing an estimated business of almost 135 crores every year with this helicopter services and the government receives only 12 to 15 crore rupees every year as the royalty of the civil aviation department and the resources used by the private companies belong to the government so this is a very big loss for Uttarakhand government and this made the government officials take this decision.

In this condition, the Civil Aviation Department has started exploring the possibility and efficiency of a government company instead of a private company. At present, nine air companies are offering their heli services in Uttarakhand for Chardham Yatra and these companies make huge profits in chartered services. As per the statistics, most of the flights are booked from Phata to Kedarnath.

• If a passenger weighs more than 80 kg for the helicopter ride, they will need to pay an extra 150 INR per person.
• To book a helicopter ride to Kedarnath and the other Dhams, visitors need to go through the IRCTC Heli Yatra portal.
• The government still rents helicopters from private companies and earns a 10% royalty.
