Tour Itinerary

Arrive in Delhi to the warm greetings of our gracious tour representative who escorts you to the waiting coach for the lovely drive to Rudraprayag. The 359 km drive takes all of 8 hours and you arrive in the evening to check into your warmly comfortable hotel room. Freshen up and set out to visit the Sangam or confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini Rivers and then go on to worship at the temple. Stay overnight in your comfortable room.

After breakfast the group heads for Chopta. Chopta is famously known as the little Switzerland of Uttarakhand and is proving to be a popular destination for Leisure seekers. In winter one can go skiing on the snowy slopes while in summer there is a beautiful lake, wooded forests, trails to follow and enjoy a day in pristine surroundings. Stay in a hotel in Chopta.

Have a hearty breakfast for today you go on an arduous trek on steep trails to Tungnath, one of the Panch Kedars and the highest Shiv Temple in the world at a height of 3680 metres. The journey is tough but the wild desolate beauty of the craggy mountainside and valleys compensates. From Tungnath we trek to Chandrashila mountain peak, about 1 Km away. Tungnath temple is more than 1000 years old and is next in order of importance as far as Shiv temples in Uttarakhand go. The return to Chopta can be tiring but is enlivened by the scenery and fun you have as a group. Rest for the night in Chopta.

After breakfast we board a coach to drive to Deoria Tal. The coach stops at Sari village from where it is a 2 km walk to this enchantingly beautiful lake set amid tall mountain ranges. The serene waters of the Deoria Tal reflect the Chaukhamba Peak. It is said the Pandavas came here and when they tried to drink from the waters, the guarding Yaksha asked them several questions they had to answer successfully before being allowed to drink. Late in the afternoon the group returns to Chopta after an enjoyable outing to one of the highest lakes.
