Who This Tour Suits

This tour suits families and first-time pilgrims who want hotels, meals and transport arranged in advance. Most road days take six to ten hours on mountain roads. Kedarnath means about 16 km of walking each way at roughly 3,580 metres, so senior citizens should join only if they are medically fit; those who cannot manage long drives may prefer the helicopter package from Dehradun.

How to Reach Char Dham from Hyderabad

This package starts and ends in Delhi, and the tour leaves Delhi for Rishikesh at 10:00 PM on Day 1. Most Hyderabad to Char Dham trips begin with a flight or train to Delhi. These tickets are not included in the package price.

By Air

Flights from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad to Delhi run through the day and take a little over two hours. This is the easiest way to join the tour. There is also a daily non-stop flight to Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun, which takes roughly 2 hours 30 minutes. From Jolly Grant, taxis are available to Haridwar (about 1 hour) or Rishikesh, which are the two main starting points for the Char Dham circuit. As this package picks up in Delhi, pilgrims flying to Dehradun can ask about our Char Dham Yatra from Haridwar or a customized itinerary.

By Train

You can take a train from Hyderabad to Delhi. The Telangana Express (12723) runs from Hyderabad Deccan (Nampally) to New Delhi and takes about 26 hours. Travel a day early if you want some rest before the night departure to Rishikesh.

By Road

A direct road journey from Hyderabad to Haridwar is around 1,700 km and is not practical to cover in one go. The usual approach is to fly or take the train to Delhi, and then continue by road. On this tour, the night stops are Barkot for Yamunotri, Uttarkashi for Gangotri, Sitapur for Kedarnath, and Badrinath town itself.

Char Dham Yatra by Helicopter from Dehradun

For pilgrims who want to complete the Char Dham Yatra without the long road stretches, our helicopter package is available. Helicopter services operate from Dehradun Sahastradhara Helipad, which you can reach on the non-stop flight from Hyderabad. The package covers all four Dhams in 6 Days / 5 Nights. It suits senior citizens, pilgrims with health limitations and anyone with limited leave.

Helicopter seats fill up fast in May and June, so book early.

On the road package, you can also fly the Kedarnath stretch instead of trekking. Shuttles run from Phata, Sersi and Guptkashi, tickets are sold only on the IRCTC HeliYatra portal after Yatra registration, and the fare is not included. Do not pay anyone offering Kedarnath helicopter tickets on WhatsApp or social media.

Places You Visit on This Yatra

Haridwar

On this tour you reach Haridwar on Day 11, on the way back. Har Ki Pauri is the main ghat, and the evening Ganga Aarti here draws thousands of pilgrims. Mansa Devi Temple (reachable by ropeway) and Chandi Devi Temple are nearby if you have time; ropeway tickets are extra. Haridwar is also where most pilgrims buy items for puja.

Yamunotri Dham

Dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, the Yamunotri Temple sits at 3,293 metres, about 6 km on foot from Janki Chatti. The idol is of black marble. Just outside the temple is Surya Kund, a hot spring where pilgrims cook rice wrapped in cloth as an offering. Divya Shila, a tall rock pillar, is worshipped before entering the main temple.

Uttarkashi

Called the 'Kashi of the North', Uttarkashi sits on the Bhagirathi River. The Kashi Vishwanath Temple here is a major stop. Right opposite it is the Shakti Temple with a large iron Trishul (trident) said to be thousands of years old. Uttarkashi is also the overnight base for Gangotri.

Gangotri Dham

The Gangotri Temple is on the right bank of the Bhagirathi River at about 3,100 metres. It is dedicated to Goddess Ganga. The actual source of the Ganga is Gaumukh Glacier, about 19 km further, a separate trek not covered in the standard package. The Bhagirathi River in front of the temple is very cold and fast-moving. Harsil village, about 25 km before Gangotri, is a quiet apple-farming valley worth a short stop.

Kedarnath

Kedarnath sits at about 3,580 metres and is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. Tradition holds that the Pandavas first built the temple and that Adi Shankaracharya later restored it. Near the temple is the Shankaracharya Samadhi, the Bhairav Nath Temple, and Vasuki Tal lake (a separate trek). The weather here can change quickly, so carry a windcheater regardless of the season.

Badrinath

Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is located at 3,133 metres between the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges. Tapt Kund (hot spring) is just below the temple, and pilgrims bathe here before darshan. Brahma Kapal nearby is where ancestor rituals are performed. Mana Village, about 4 km from the temple, is signposted as the first Indian village before the border and has Bhim Pul, Vyas Gufa, and the Saraswati River.

Accommodation at Char Dhams

At most points on the Char Dham circuit, you will find a mix of GMVN (Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam) lodges, private hotels, and Dharamshalas. GMVN properties are government-run and found at most major stops. Private hotels range from basic to mid-range; true luxury hotels are rare above Joshimath or Uttarkashi.

In peak season (May-June), availability at all Dham locations gets very tight. Our package includes pre-booked hotels, listed below (or similar):

Char Dham Yatra 2026 Temple Dates

The temples opened between 19 and 23 April 2026. The closing dates below are tentative. The temple committees confirm them closer to the day, so check again before booking a late-October or November trip.

Late October and November are cold at all four Dhams, so pack extra warm layers for a late-season trip.

Travel Tips for Pilgrims from Hyderabad

A few practical things for this trip:

• Clothes: The temperature drops sharply at night even in May-June. Kedarnath and Badrinath can be near-freezing after sunset. Carry at least one good quality fleece or down jacket, thermals, and a windcheater.
• Health: If you have blood pressure, heart, or breathing issues, get a medical check done before booking. Carry a pulse oximeter, as altitude above 3,000 metres can affect oxygen levels.
• Cash: UPI and cards work in Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Uttarkashi. At Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Yamunotri, carry enough cash. ATMs exist in Uttarkashi, Guptkashi and Joshimath but can run out during peak season.
• Yatra Registration: Online registration at registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in is mandatory. Keep the registration slip and your original ID proof with you throughout the trip. Health screening points operate on the yatra routes, so carry your prescribed medicines and any medical reports if you have an existing condition.
• Monsoon warning: July and August are the monsoon months in Uttarakhand. Landslides and road closures are common, so we suggest May-June or September-October instead.
• Photography: Mobile phones and cameras are restricted inside many temple premises, and photography near the sanctum is usually not allowed. Follow the notices at each shrine.
• Footwear: Carry a separate pair of footwear that is easy to remove, as you will be removing shoes at every temple entrance multiple times a day.
• Night driving: On Char Dham Yatra routes, vehicles are not allowed to run between 10 PM and 4 AM. Our itinerary is planned around this.
• Ponies and dolis: Hire them from the registered counters at Janki Chatti and Gaurikund, where the fixed rates are displayed, rather than from touts on the path.
