Don’t get fooled by the humble mention of the cave. It’s just not your regular old cave! Owing to its increased popularity in recent years, it was equipped with a lot of amenities and facilities for the meditators. Here’s what you get:

Cost for Renting
Initially when the cave was opened for meditation, it was priced at INR 3,000 per night; however, after the demand shot up, the prices were brought down substantially in order to accommodate more meditators.
The cost of Rudra Meditation Cave is INR 990 per night. At a time, only one person can stay in the cave, and that too for a maximum of three days.
How to Book Rudra Meditation Cave?
The booking for this cave can be done online via the GMVN website. You will be required to fill out a form, mention the date of your stay, submit appropriate documents, and pay the booking amount.
After your cave has been booked and confirmed, you will be given a detailed brief about the precautions and the procedure for staying at the cave. You will be required to report to Guptkashi two days prior to the day of your stay at the cave.
You will also be made to undergo a complete and thorough medical check-up prior to your stay.
How to Reach Rudra Meditation Cave
First of all, you need to reach the Kedarnath Temple. From the shrine, it’s very easy to reach the cave. You will be required to make your way up the mountain behind the temple for 1 km. It is a very accessible route and can be covered easily.
To reach the Kedarnath temple, you can pick any of the following modes of transport:
By Air
Reach Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun, which is about 235 km away from the shrine. From here, you can hire a taxi to get to Guptkashi, Sersi, Sitapur, or Phata. You can take a helicopter trip from there to the Kedarnath helipad, which is just about 500 metres away from the shrine.
By Rail
Both Haridwar Junction (HW) and Rishikesh Railway Station serve as the nearest railway stations. Upon arrival, you can take a bus or hire a cab to reach the temple.
By Road
Reach Haridwar first, which is well-connected with other major cities via national highways. From here you can reach Sonprayag via taxi. After that, take shared jeeps up to Gaurikund. From here onwards, either trek or take pony/Palki service to reach the temple.
