After considering the rapid growth in the helicopter services business, the state government has now decided to set up their helicopter services. According to the statistics, the private companies are doing an estimated business of almost 135 crores every year with this helicopter services and the government receives only 12 to 15 crore rupees every year as the royalty of the civil aviation department and the resources used by the private companies belong to the government so this is a very big loss for Uttarakhand government and this made the government officials take this decision.
In this condition, the Civil Aviation Department has started exploring the possibility and efficiency of a government company instead of a private company. At present, nine air companies are offering their heli services in Uttarakhand for Chardham Yatra and these companies make huge profits in chartered services. As per the statistics, most of the flights are booked from Phata to Kedarnath.
Arbitrary Recovery will be Stopped
The formation of the government’s own heli company will put an end to the arbitrariness of private companies. Tickets will be booked online. Booking rates for Kedarnath from Sarsi, Phata and Guptkashi are between six and a half thousand to seven and a half thousand, but there are allegations of ticket blackening as the number of pilgrims increases, the arrival of a government agency will put an end to such fears. Apart from this, the government will also be able to control ticket rates.
Helicopters will be taken on Lease
The civil aviation department will initially lease the helicopter on a tender basis from private companies to operate heli services. The department will only hire companies during the journey, retaining operational rights. After this, your helicopters can also be purchased. In this series, the department is also considering buying Dhruv helicopters from Hindustan Aeronautical Limited.
