Chardham Yatra 2024: Offline Registration Starts Today

Chardham Yatra 2024: Starting Date and Registration Details

The Chardham Yatra, a significant pilgrimage in Uttarakhand, will begin on May 10 with the opening of Gangotri and Yamunotri temples. The government has made arrangements for both online and offline registrations to help the pilgrims.

The Tourism Department has completed all necessary preparations for the Chardham Yatra. Offline registration can be done in Haridwar and Rishikesh, available from 7 am to 7 pm starting today, May 8th 2024. In addition, six counters have been set up in Dharmanagari where pilgrims can register offline. Each counter will register up to 500 pilgrims for each temple, including Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri.

Though many pilgrims are registering online from their homes, offline registration facilities are also available for those entering the state. These registration centers are equipped with internet access, lighting, electricity, seating, and provisions for air and cold water to ensure comfort during the registration process.

Green Cards for Vehicles

Vehicles transporting pilgrims to the Chardham will receive green cards at the ARTO office in Roshnabad. A special counter has been set up there to issue these cards, simplifying the process for drivers to obtain the necessary permissions for the journey.

All preparations for offline registration are ready, and registrations will begin on 8th May. If the initial number of available slots is not enough, additional slots will be provided as needed to ensure every pilgrim can register.

With these facilities in place, the government aims to ensure a smooth and organized Chardham Yatra for all pilgrims attending in 2024.
