Dehradun: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present for the Kapat opening ceremony of Kedarnath Temple which is scheduled for 29 April, provided no political issue turns up to keep him occupied on the day. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat announced the same on Friday, 20th April 2018. Also, discussions are ongoing on whether along with Prime Minister, State Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and other chief Ministers of BJP ruling states would join the auspicious occasion as well. On the other hand, District Administrator of Rudraprayag Mangesh Ghildiyal stated that he has not yet received any official programme by the Prime Minister. Well, the administration has already finished preparations for VIP and VVIP arrangements at Kedarnath for the ceremony.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi claims to be an ardent devotee of Lord Kedarnath. In fact, the restoration of Kedarpuri in all its grandeur is one of Modi’s dream projects. Modi laid the foundation stone for many projects during the kapat opening ceremony of Kedarnath last year. Also, the Prime Minister made it a point to visit Kedarnath during the kapat closure ceremony of Kedarnath in October as well. That is when he first informed of his intent to visit the Kedarnath Temple opening ceremony this year.
Kedarnath Temple is scheduled to open on 29 April this year and the reconstruction activities are in full swing. It is expected that the temple would shine in its new form by then. Meanwhile, all activities to make the Kapat opening ceremony grand have already been completed. It is thus estimated that the Prime Minister would be present for the Kapat opening ceremony of Kedarnath. If the rumours are to be believed, chief ministers of many states are also expected to visit Kedarnath shrine during the day. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat highlighted the particular devotion Prime Minister Modi has towards Kedarnath shrine. It is hoped that Prime Minister would be duly present for the splendid Kedarnath Temple opening ceremony.
