Kedarnath Construction Work to be Completed by September

The construction work using the commonly available hill – type stones in the holy site of Kedarnath dham, is being installed from inside the temple premises to the terrace. Although the heavy rains caused some hindrance in the construction work but the work was quickly resumed and has been continuously going on without any hassle. This important construction work had started during the winter month of January and has also continued all along the yatra season.

Generally, during the months of May and June the number of devotees and pilgrims had increased substantially which did prove to cause some amount of interruption in the ongoing work but currently, the speed of work has also been amped up due to the lowered number of pilgrims. The completion target which is set by the administration for the stone construction work is till September.

Some More Information About the Said Construction Work

The stones which are being utilized are of variable sizes, one is big (1*2 feet) whereas the other one is small (4*2 inches). So far, almost 30 thousand of these stones have been laid down in the surrounding area as well as within the temple complex. The installation of the remaining stones will soon take place. As per the district magistrate of Rudraprayag, Mangesh Ghildiyal, this stone laying construction work will be completed by the month of September. He has also mentioned that the resultant structure will be well taken care of.
