After the formal starting off of the Char Dham Yatra, the Government has focused its attention on the Hemkund Sahib Yatra for the time being. This Yatra is scheduled to start from 1st June and the army jawans have been commissioned to clear off the watery foot route to Hemkund Sahib and make the road travel friendly. According to the reports obtained the Jawans have achieved their mission. The area cleared by the Jawans was originally completely snowed over. The problem of electricity in the Dham has also been cleared.
On Monday the Chief Minister Harish Rawat had inspected the arrangements made at Hemkund Sahib and the primary stop Govindghat and made an honest assessment of the arrangements. A meeting was held with the officials on the subject of fortification of travel arrangements. During this duration Mr. Rawat said that he will be personally involved in checking out the arrangements. Harish Rawat reached Govindghat at 11.30 A.M and paid homage at the Gurudwara. He went on further inspection of all the travel arrangements made at the Gurudwara. The Helicopter base camp Ghaghariya was also inspected by Harish Rawat. Mr Rawat also supervised the construction of the wall in Govindghat and expressed disapproval over the delay in the same. The safety of the travelers was deemed to be the first concern of the state according to the statement released by Mr Rawat. SDRF Jawans were also positioned at many places in the road. On this accoasion the Vidhayak Mr Rajesh Bhandari, the official Supervisor Mr. Narendranath Bindra and the Gurudwara Chief Manager Sewa Singh was also present.
