Eco Carry bags at pre fixed prices are now being used at the certified refreshment points and certified eateries operated at GMVN. The district magistrate has instructed all involved officials regarding this.
The district magistrate Dr Raghav Langar has acted according to government mandates and has completely banned the use of polythene bags on the specified routes. Currently for the facilitation of travelers the Sonprayag Prashasan has made the supply of large Eco carry bags available at just 5 Rs at Bhimboli, Kedarnath, Gaurikund and Linchouli. Till now there was the heavy use of plastic bags in Kedarnath in the small temporary shops that dotted that area. After the disaster that happened a few years back in Kedarnath the Government has taken large steps to cleanse the area. The responsibility of making these areas polythene free has been given to the Zila Panchayat.
