Kedarnath Dham’s recreation will soon be seen on the Rishikesh railway station, which is also a symbol of faith for millions of Hindus. Visitors and travellers will soon be able to get a small glimpse into the colorful culture of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand’s culture and beliefs on this railway station. Currently due to the RishikeshKarnaprayag rail project, Rishikesh railway station is being beautified. Under this project a replica of Kedarnath Dham will be set up and recreated on the building of the railway station. The final design for the replica of Kedarnath Dham has now been finalized. The construction work for this railway station is set to be completed by this year’s April or May. After completing the restoration work on Rishikesh railway station, other stations that are being constructed under this project, will also undergo beautification where the culture and traditions of the Pahadi people will be depicted. The new railway stations will be designed and constructed in a way that will depict the styles of the traditional buildings and temples of Uttarakhand.

Once the construction of this railway project is completed and its functioning commences it will take 2.5 hours for the pilgrim to reach Karnaprayag. The project is going on in full swing where a 126 km long railway line will be set up connecting Rishikesh and Rudraprayag. The highlight of this entire project is the fact that only 21 km of the entire railway line will be visible on the ground while the remaining 105 kms will pass through a number of tunnels that are built underground.

Railway officials have said that this railway project is special in its own way where the 16 stations created under this project will be different from the common railway station people see every day. The architecture of each railway station building will depict the culture and ancient temples of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. The total length of this Rishikesh – Karnaprayag railway line is 126 km and as per this project 18 tunnels will be built that will be 205 km long. This construction of the station in new Rishikesh is in full progress whereas the maps of other such railway stations are still to be finalized. The deadline for the completion of this railway project will be done by the year 2024.
