Apart from this, these glaciers are also a significant source of fresh water for the local population, who base their lives around these water bodies. Some of these ice formations are not only important for thrill-seeking adventurers, but they also hold immense religious and spiritual significance and are frequented by devotees as part of their pilgrimage.
