It is believed that even the weather has surrendered to the intense penance these sadhus perform. In terms of clothing, these sadhus wear nothing but blankets, and some even roam around in a complete Digambar form, without wearing anything.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-566\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/sadhu-meditation-at-badrinath-2.jpg\" alt=\"sadhu meditation at badrinath-2\" width=\"750\" height=\"555\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chardhamtour.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/sadhu-meditation-at-badrinath-2.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.chardhamtour.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/sadhu-meditation-at-badrinath-2-300x222.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>During the winter months, the entire Himalayan region, including the Badrinath shrine, is covered in snow, often reaching heights of 4 to 6 feet. The mercury drops to a freezing -20 degrees Celsius, yet the sadhus maintain their meditation, their sadhana, in such harsh conditions. During this time, some sadhus remain at Badrinath Dham with permission from the administration to perform intense penance. The last post between the India-China border, located in Mana village, is kept in defense.
