It is believed that even the weather has surrendered to the intense penance these sadhus perform. The mercury drops to a freezing -20 degrees Celsius, yet the sadhus maintain their meditation, their sadhana, in such harsh conditions. During this time, some sadhus remain at Badrinath Dham with permission from the administration to perform intense penance. The last post between the India-China border, located in Mana village, is kept in defense.
