The gloriously majestic, snow-laden Himalayan ranges outline and overlook the lake, forming a beautiful backdrop for this holy site. This is also one of the least visited and less frequented <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chardhamtour.in\/blog\/trekking-places-in-uttarakhand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trekking trails in Uttarakhand<\/a>. It is located about 8 km from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chardhamtour.in\/blog\/char-dham-yatra-of-uttarakhand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the holy Char Dham site<\/a> and one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chardhamtour.in\/kedarnath\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">holiest Jyotirlingas of Kedarnath<\/a>. The lake is surrounded by colourful fauna and the beautifully unique Brahma Kamal, which is only found at high-altitude zones. Trekking to this region is a difficult route, so people suffering from BP problems or any physical or mental ailment are advised against taking this journey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A trekking journey to Vasuki Tal is every trekker&#8217;s dream come true. The trekking grade for this lake is difficult, and hiring a local guide is strongly recommended to ensure you stay on the correct trail \u2014 particularly on the stretch between Vasuki Top and the lake, which is not clearly marked.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The trek starts from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chardhamtour.in\/gaurikund.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gaurikund<\/a> via Rambara, reaching up to Garud Chatti, and finally passing through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chardhamtour.in\/kedarnath-temple.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">holy Kedarnath Dham temple<\/a>. Since the lake is situated at an extremely high altitude, it experiences low temperatures during the winter months, along with freezing weather conditions and occasional snowfall. Trekking is not possible during the winter months. Trekking during the rainy and winter seasons is not allowed, as the entire region becomes prone to unpredictable landslides.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Reach_Vasuki_Tal\"><\/span><b>How to Reach Vasuki Tal<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vasuki Tal is reached via Kedarnath. The base camp for the entire journey is Gaurikund.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"By_Air\"><\/span><b>By Air<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, approximately 250 km from Gaurikund. From the airport, hire a taxi to Gaurikund (8\u20139 hours via Guptkashi or Sonprayag). Helicopter services from Phata, Sirsi, and Guptkashi helipads go directly to Kedarnath \u2014 book at heliyatra.irctc.co.in for the helicopter leg.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"By_Rail\"><\/span><b>By Rail<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The nearest railway stations are Rishikesh and Haridwar. From Rishikesh, Gaurikund is approximately 216 km by road (7\u20138 hours). Taxis and shared cabs are available from Rishikesh bus stand toward Guptkashi and Sonprayag, from where Gaurikund is 5 km further.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"By_Road\"><\/span><b>By Road<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gaurikund is well connected by road from Delhi (460 km, 13\u201314 hours), Haridwar (260 km), and Rishikesh (216 km). GMOU buses and shared taxis operate from Haridwar and Rishikesh to Sonprayag. From Sonprayag, shared jeeps go to Gaurikund. Private vehicles are not permitted beyond Sonprayag.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Gaurikund_to_Kedarnath_Trek_Helicopter\"><\/span><b>Gaurikund to Kedarnath (Trek \/ Helicopter)<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From Gaurikund, the trek to Kedarnath is 16\u201318 km and takes 6\u20138 hours on foot via Rambara and Garud Chatti. Alternatively, helicopter service from Phata, Sirsi, or Guptkashi helipads reaches Kedarnath in 7\u201310 minutes. The temple dates to the 8th century (or earlier by some accounts) and is one of the most significant pilgrimage sites in India. Allow at least 2\u20133 hours for darshan before starting the trek.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Vasuki_Top_Viewpoint\"><\/span><b>Vasuki Top Viewpoint<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the way to Vasuki Tal, Vasuki Top offers panoramic views of the Chaukhamba massif and the Mandakini Valley.
