Chardham Yatra Buses is Now a Reality: 1500 New Roadways Buses to Join the Fleet

For convenient and safe transport facilities roadways buses are also being included in Char Dham circuit this year. As a part of the first phase of the travel route only 50 buses from the state transport corporation will be installed. As per requirement, the number of buses will also be increased from the Kumaon motor operators Union. Technically, the Joint Rotation Travel Arrangement committee (responsible for conducting tours to Hemkund Sahib since the last 4 decades) has decided to include 1500 buses in this year’s journey. As a part of the preparations for the transport system in Chardham Yatra, transport secretary and Commissioner Shailesh Bagauli has held a review meeting along with the other transport officers of the entire state at the transport headquarters. The transport commissioner had instructed that along with installing 50 buses, the roadways would also operate 25 to 30 bus services from the bus stand in Haridwar to Uttarkashi, Joshimath, Gangotri and Yamunotri for covering all the major stations that fall on the Yatra Route. Apart from this, city buses will also be deployed in Dehradun provided their travel condition is better.

The Delegation Will Also Have a Word with Registered Travel Agents

The committee members demanded a ban on the operation of vehicles from Haridwar for Chardham, stating the violation of permit conditions and the administration. It was also decided that the delegation of joint rotation will be authorized to negotiate with the registered travel agents of Haridwar.

Journey Timings to be Fixed

The transport commissioner has fixed the time for the operation of vehicles on the Chardham travel route. The vehicle will be operating from 5 am in the morning to 8 pm at night. In a decision to curb the accident, the vehicles will be running late at night through the transport and police check post will be stopped.

Time to Stop the Speed

This time a new experiment is being used in an attempt to curb the speed on the travel route. For commercial vehicles, the drivers must start for the check post at the beginning point of the journey and on the very same check post, the date and time will be mentioned in their green card.
